A spacious home grants vacationers all the room they need for a comfortable getaway. Vrbo’s latest campaign illustrates some benefits that their large rental properties can offer — notably, privacy and security.
Vacation is about spending time with loved ones – not strangers. That’s what makes booking private homes on popular booking platform Vrbo a great option, according to the brand’s latest creative campaign, ‘Only Your People.’
Vrbo, part of Expedia Group, pairs homeowners with vacationers seeking places to stay, from cabins and beach houses, to condos and other kinds of housing. Co-produced by Vrbo’s creative team and Wieden+Kennedy, ‘Only Your People’ is a film series that displays how Vrbo properties, often full-size homes, provide guests with ample space and privacy, while preventing awkward encounters with strangers on vacation.
“Our new creative campaign spotlights why so many travelers prefer booking their vacations with Vrbo – because Vrbo guests always get the whole place to themselves,” Hector Muelas, senior vice president of global creative at Expedia Group, tells The Drum. “For ‘Only Your People,’ we intentionally featured different destinations and types of vacation homes to show that no matter what type of vacation you’re going on or who you’re traveling with, staying in Vrbo’s whole homes is the best way to be together with your loved ones.”

The spots will air this week throughout the US and Canada across broadcast, cable networks, digital video and cinema, while digital audio and out of home elements of the campaign will roll out in the coming months.
“This was an exciting opportunity to bring a unique visual language to the travel category—all while keeping Vrbo’s vacation homes at the center of the story,” Derek Szynala and Pierre Jouffray, creative directors at Wieden+Kennedy Portland, adds. “More importantly, it’s a great way to remind everyone that vacation is all about spending time alone with those you are closest to.”
The campaign comes on the heels of Vrbo’s Super Bowl pre-game ad, ‘A Place for Together,’ which represented the brand’s first major campaign created with Wieden+Kennedy.
