Premier League trading card brand kicks off new season

Panini, the Premier League trading card and sticker brand, is playing its cards right for the start of the new football season with a TV and digital campaign.

The zany campaign has been crafted by Dark Horses and depicts a group of school friends undertaking high-stakes negotiations for their trading card collections in the cafeteria. When one boy concludes a swap for a rare Golden Baller card, he is duly crowned as the greatest swapper of all time, aka ‘The GOAT of Swaps.’

Promoting the Premier League 22/23 Adrenalyn XL trading card collection, the colorful campaign brings the drama of negotiation to life with bombastic sound, outrageous graphics and atmospheric lighting.

Adam Burns, creative director at Dark Horses, said: “As a football fan who grew up chasing Alan Shearer shinies, working on a brand like Panini is a bit of a dream. Swapping stickers in the playground is how many of us built our earliest friendships, and it’s no different for young people today. Our new work pays homage to the art of the swap and the kudos it can bring among peers in a spot beautifully brought to life by JAK, which I think will capture the imagination of young potential GOATs all over the country.”

The film was shot by JAK and produced by Knucklehead, and will run until late September.

Lovehoney produces how-to guide for turning off Google SafeSearch to access site

UK sexual wellness brand Lovehoney has created an instructional guide to raise awareness of how it can be hidden by Google’s SafeSearch. The SafeSearch feature, when turned on, prevents Google searches from returning ‘explicit’ results, but the brand argues this is being implemented inconsistently. For example, organic results and paid ads for the Lovehoney site – which contains actual sexual wellness advice – are blocked, while its products still show up on the sites of other retailers. As part of the awareness campaign, Lovehoney has unveiled an animated video guide with the aim to help those ‘suffering from SafeSearch’ (symptoms of which include suppressed sexual happiness). The guide walks consenting adults through the process of turning SafeSearch off, in turn showing them how to find Lovehoney without any issues. Lovehoney has also created an advice page with additional information on SafeSearch, as well as a step-by-step guide on switching it off. Lovehoney stated that it

Jennifer Lawrence & Ed Helms spotlight danger faced by poll workers ahead of US midterms

Facing threats of violence, many US election workers fear for their lives, their jobs and the future of American democracy. Advocacy group RepresentUs has tapped actors Jennifer Lawrence and Ed Helms to help raise awareness of the worsening issue. A powerful new PSA starring A-listers Jennifer Lawrence and Ed Helms draws attention to the all-too-real risks that US election workers take on to support fair, democratic elections. It calls on Americans to voice their support for such workers ahead of the US midterm elections on November 8. Created by bipartisan anti-corruption interest group RepresentUs, the minute and a half-long video, which debuted today, sees Lawrence and Helms reading real death threats made to US election workers in 2020. The sampling is starkly chilling; “You’re all going to die and it is what you deserve,” reads one message. “I know where you sleep. I see you sleeping. Be afraid,” another says. Distrust in institutions is reaching historic highs: today, 57% of
